Thank you for showing an interest in joining Sevenoaks Art Club. We are always keen to attract new members and there are no restrictions on membership. I hope the following information will help you organise your first visit to our club.

 

You will have already gleaned some information about the Club from our site, so I won't risk boring you with too many details.  Suffice to say it's a very friendly club of about seventy members with a good range of ages, artistic styles and gender mix.   We meet fortnightly on Saturday mornings throughout most of the year with indoor sessions held at either at; Mencap Hall, 71 Hitchen Hatch La, Sevenoaks, TN13 3AY between October and May and outdoor sessions taking place at relatively local locations during the 'summer' months.  The numbers attending each session tend to vary according the topic/subject matter.  The indoor sessions tend to be more popular especially those led by a professional tutor (often involving life and portrait studies) where around 20+ attend, whilst outdoor locations attract approximately 10 to 15 members.  It's an eclectic mix of talent ranging from complete amateurs like myself to semi-professional artists, but we all share a keen interest in art and part of the enjoyment is the shared experience and drawing (no pun intended) on other members' ideas and techniques.

 

Once you receive a confirmation that a place is available for you to join as a member the subscription for this calendar year is a very modest £55, which gives you access to all our sessions and exhibitions is due. A decision on new members availability is made each time during March unless a member leave us during the year so their place become available.

 

Finally, you would be expected to bring your own equipment (unless otherwise stated in the programme).  This can range from a pencil and pad to an easel with a full set of oils or acrylics.  The choice is yours!
